A feature documentary about one man's solo swim across the English Channel — and the promise to his mother that drove it.

100% of ticket sales go to cancer research at Gustave Roussy, Europe's leading cancer research and treatment centre, in France.

Swimming Home is a feature documentary about one man's attempt to swim the English Channel — solo, without a wetsuit, across 21 miles of cold, unpredictable water known as the "Everest of swims."

The film follows Erwan Le Roy, a French-born San Franciscan with no endurance-swimming background, over the year he spends transforming himself, body and mind, for a crossing most people would never attempt. What starts as a promise to his mother after her cancer diagnosis becomes a true story about grief, hope, and what it takes to keep going when every reason to quit is right there in the water.

World Premiere, followed by a live Q&A with Erwan Le Roy, the swimmer at the center of the film.

Documentary · 74 minutes. Doors 5:00pm — screening begins promptly at 5:30pm — Q&A to follow. Event ends 7:30pm.
